Wrexham hosted the National Eisteddfod for the first time in 1876 and also awarded the first ever Cadair Ddu (Black Chair) as the winner Thomas Jones died the night he submitted his awdl (poem).


This wooden magnet features an illustration of the bardic chair from the Wrexham Eisteddfod of 1876 as well as the bardic name of the winner - Taliesin o Eifion. The writing in Welsh translates to: National Eisteddfod Wrexham 1876 - Bard of the Black Chair.
