The Magnificent Malpas Summer Fair!

This past Saturday I was at yet another fair this time in the lovely village of Malpas. I wasn't sure what to expect when it was billed as a 'village summer fair' but I was very impressed with the whole event! Despite an ominous dark grey sky in the morning the weather for most of the day was lovely and sunny, and even the rain did't stop the festivities in the afternoon!

This is me all set up in my familiar red gazebo, and my neighbours; the lovely Iris and Terry on one side, and a group of ladies with some yummy homemade cakes raising money for their church on the other.

I had a lovely view of the arena from my stall!

Here's some of the items I had to sell. My fabric hearts and bottle top keyrings were both very popular this time.

Some of the groups in the parade included the local cheerleaders who followed the local firemen and their elephant mascot. 

A samba band provided the music, and also gave a few performances throughout the day.

There was lots of entertainment provided throughout the day, including this well balanced fella.

The fair officially got kicking when the parade arrived on the scene. It looked as though nearly the whole village took part!

The theme of the fair was Mardi Gras so there were lots of people dressed up in colourful carnival outfits. Even a couple of giants stopped by!

The Malpas flower club got into the carnival spirit!

The arena was host to lots of competitions including the pony fancy dress competition!

The Vale Royal Falconry display team also provided some bird themed fun throughout the day. I just about managed to snap one mid-flight!

The Malpas Village Parade!

Well as you can see from all these photos I had a pretty fun day at Malpas! It may not have been my most successful fair in terms of sales but it was definitely my most fun one in terms of fun! I met lots of nice people and a lovely dog called Bessie, and though I may have been thoroughly soaked by my gazebo whilst putting it away it did nothing to dampen my enjoyment! Thank you Malpas for a fabulous day!
