My favourite table!

I love it when I get given a piece of art to do with no restrictions on colour or design. I was recently given a small white side table and told to do what I wanted with it and I could instantly see the finished design in my head.



The table was already painted white but the finish on it was terrible so I decided to sand it all down and start again. This is how it looked after I sanded it. I then added two layers of undercoat and got to work on the end design. . .

And this is my new favourite table!

Isn't it beautiful! I wanted to create something that would look equally at home in a little girls bedroom, a grown up living room and a doll house. I absolutely adore this shade of pink; it's like candy floss and baby bunnies. I wanted to do a large statement design on the top rather than a small pattern here and there to give this table something to make it stand out. I also think it raises it above the level of 'girly' into 'ladylike'.

Every so often I make something that I really want to keep for myself, and this was definitely one of those times. I love you flower table!
