Joy and Love!

A couple of months ago I ended up with a couple of spare canvases due to a wedding canvas project disaster. Rather than scrap them, I decided to create two new paintings called 'Joy' and 'Love' I had an image in my head of two dancers draped in colours and ribbons; one expressing joy, and the other love.

Normally when painting I will draw the design onto the canvas/paper first and paint from there. However with these I painted freely, making much of it up as I went. I did do some sketches beforehand to make sure the images in my head would translate to paper but these two paintings are definitely the most expressionistic I have ever done.
